March 5, 2025 - Psalms 37:1-4
“Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither. Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.” Psalms 37:1-4 NLT
Lord, we want to be people whose trust is deeply rooted in you. We want to trust in your goodness and your justice. If that is true, there is no need for us to worry about wickedness, for you will take care of it. Please reveal to us any place in our lives where we are envying those doing wrong. Please forgive us for wanting anything wicked above you. We know that doing wrong will only lead to death. We want to do what is going to draw us closer to Life and flee from anything that pulls us towards death. We praise you for wanting us to live life abundantly. When we live in you and your ways it draws us closer to Life and causes us to flourish, not wither.
Lord, grow our love for you and our desire to please you in every detail of our lives. Change us to make this a reality. Help us to want more of you than anything this world has to offer. Teach us how to live a life of delight in you. We want our greatest heart’s desires to be to please you and see your heart’s desire fulfilled. Let our love for you increase daily and overflow into all we do.
