March 5, 2024 - 2 Chronicles 20:12
“O our God, won’t you stop them? We are powerless against this mighty army that is about to attack us. We do not know what to do, but we are looking to you for help.” 2 Chronicles 20:12 NLT
Lord, as we read this verse, it is easy to think about times in our lives when we were asking similar questions. “Lord, why are you allowing this to happen?” “Can’t you stop this from happening to me?” “Lord, can’t you change this circumstance?” So many places in our lives where we didn’t understand why we were in that place, how you allowed something to happen, or didn’t make something happen. Whatever the circumstance, it left us in a place of needing your miraculous help. Where in the moment it likely was stressful and had us frustrated, it is in those moments that you grow our faith. If we never had the moments where we needed to see your miracles happen then we would miss out on seeing your miracles in our lives. They are such a blessing, Lord. They teach us all about your love for us and faithfulness to us.
Lord, we thank you that it is when we are powerless that you show up in all your glorious power. Thank you that when we cry out for help, you show up and help. We praise you for your faithfulness. We thank you for the hard moments that grow our faith. Help us learn to trust you when those moments arise and not get stressed, anxious, or frustrated. We want our faith to rise up immediately. As it does, fill us with joy and excitement because we will get to see another miracle in our lives. Even if that miracle looks different than what we wanted or expected, let us still praise you for your faithfulness to us. You are worthy of all our praise. Thank you for always doing what is best for us. Thank you for how you love us and care for us even in the hard moments in life.
