March 31, 2024 - Psalms 11:7
“For the righteous Lord loves justice. The virtuous will see his face.” Psalms 11:7 NLT
Lord, this Easter Sunday, we praise you for being our Righteous Lord, who wants to show us your face. We praise you for always standing for what is right. What peace it gives us to know that you, our God, will always do the right thing. Every action you take is justifiable. We praise you that you love justice. You are the definition of justice. You will make sure that everyone of us is held accountable for our every action. Lord, that could be such a scary thought when we think about the actions we often choose. But your amazing grace has provided a way for justice to be kept and yet for us to still have hope. You gave your life to pay the cost of our sins. How amazing. All praise be to you. The wages of our sin is death. We most definitely deserve to pay that price. There is not one of us who doesn’t deserve death. The scales don’t balance our good versus our bad. We could never accomplish being good enough to outweigh the price of our sins. But you, our Lord, have come and made a way for us. What a beautifully remarkable gift you have given us.
Jesus, not only have you bought our salvation and kept us from going to hell, but you still go beyond. You are constantly drawing us near to you. You long to spend time with us. Not only for all eternity in heaven, but in the here and now. You want us to see your face. This verse says that the virtuous will see your face. We want to be virtuous. Help us walk in your ways. Make us people who choose the virtuous path. It isn’t an easy path, and it will cost us greatly to walk it, but Lord, you are worth it. You paid such a huge price for us, and we want to see your face. We want to rest in your presence daily. We want to live in a way that we are always aware of your presence around us. Let us see your face, our Lord.
In Jesus name, amen.
