March 29, 2022 - Psalms 91:1
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalms 91:1 ASV
Lord, we want to dwell with you all the days of our lives. Help us find our own secret place with you and value it more than anything else. We want to fight to spend time there. Even when it is hard and we feel like we are showing up and you aren’t, help us to press in and still show up. Lord, we know that you are there, and it is in the continued showing up we will grow in you. Lord, we don’t want to buy into the lie that our time sitting and waiting on you is accomplishing nothing. Help us refuse to allow passivity to steal our time in the secret place with you. We know whether we feel your presence or not, when we spend time praying and reading our bibles, we are learning and growing. That is just the way your kingdom works.
Lord, forgive us for the ways that we have allowed lies or other things to steal our time with you. Forgive us for the times when we have not prioritized spending time in your presence over things that don’t matter in eternity. Holy Spirit, come and help us change any behavior or attitudes that need to change for us to prioritize time in the secret place. We want to live our lives abiding in your shadow. Teach us how to change how we do life so that it isn’t just a place that we visit on occasion, but that we live from that place. We want to dwell there all the time. Help us change our mindset so that it lines up with the possibility of this.
We praise you that you not only allow us to live in that amazing place with you, you want us to. Thank you that you have a special secret place that is designed for each one of us. What an honor to have our own place that you made just for us. We never want to skip out on the wonderous pleasure of all that you have in store for us in this place.
