March 28, 2022 - Revelation 3:17-19

“You say, ‘I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. So I advise you to buy gold from me—gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. Also buy white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see. I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference.” Revelation 3:17-19 NLT

Lord, help us to truly see ourselves. We want to see both how much we are loved, who you say we are, and the authority you have given us, as well as where we are lacking. Help us see any places we are living as wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked. We know that you have made a way for us to get out of living in those places and we want to bring everything into alignment with your ways so we can be set free from those places. These verses give us an answer to how to get out of those places and begin to fully live out of a place of true riches, purity, and clarity. I believe that the key is in repentance.

Lord, we come before you today and ask that you would show us the things in our lives that we need to repent for. We welcome your discipline and refiner’s fire. Boil to the surface our impurities. We want our lives to be rich with your pure gold. We repent of the things that are not of you and we remove them from our lives. We replace them with your pure white garments. We come before you and ask that you would bring clarity to our sight. Remove any world view that taints our vision or any blinder we are wearing. Place your ointment in our eyes and allow us to see with clarity. Thank you that when we allow you to remove the nasty junk from our lives you replace them with pure items that hold so much value. Praise you for how you love us.
