March 26, 2024 - Ephesians 5:1

“Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behavior from their parents.” Ephesians 5:1 MSG

Father, we praise you that you are the perfect parent that wants to teach us proper behavior. How wonderful that you don’t expect us to transform ourselves. You are right there with us helping us, teaching us, encouraging us along the journey. You work in us and bring transformation as we walk with you. Jesus, thank you for being such a great example for us to follow. You came to earth and showed us how to live. You inspired your followers to write accounts about it, inspired others to save and compile those accounts, and you preserved it over thousands of years. We praise you that it is still available and that we have easy access to it. We can read all about how you lived your life. We can read the instructions that you left us.  What an amazing treasure that we praise you for giving to us.

We also praise you for the gift of the Holy Spirit who helps us learn to understand and walk out what is written. Holy Spirit, we want to invite you into our day every day. We ask for you to walk closely with us. Help us learn how to live like Jesus. Help us learn how to behave in a way that brings you glory in everything. Help us learn to pay close attention to all you say and do. Help us learn to hear your voice more clearly and be good at identifying when you are nudging us. We want to walk in obedience to all you ask of us. Help us be so tuned into you that we don’t miss a thing. Thank you for how you desire for us to succeed, and you have made it possible for us to do that.

In Jesus name, amen.
