March 25, 2024 - Psalms 18:16-19
“He reached down from heaven and rescued me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemies, from those who hated me and were too strong for me. They attacked me at a moment when I was in distress, but the Lord supported me. He led me to a place of safety; he rescued me because he delights in me.” Psalms 18:16-19 NLT
Lord, how mighty are you! We praise you for being our rescuer. How marvelous that we have the All-mighty God working for us. We never want to take that for granted but live in a forever thankful state for your faithfulness to us. We praise you for how you delight in us. We praise you for how you fully see us. You are not a God who rules from up in Heaven but are not really tuned into the details of our lives. No, you are walking with us and know us intimately. Hallelujah. We praise you for drawing us out into the deeper waters. Is it over our heads and does it feel more dangerous there, yes, but you draw us there to show us your faithfulness. It teaches us to trust in you. It is how we get to know you more intimately. We are so grateful for this opportunity! We are so grateful for your support. We praise you that you always want to lead us to a place of safety, even if we are fully surrounded by our enemies, we can trust you to stand with us.
Lord, teach us to trust that you are our safety and that you rescue us, even in those times when things don’t turn out like we thought they should. Even in those times when we are hurt. Use those times to draw us closer to you and deepen our knowledge of your faithfulness and help us not to push you away. Grow us and protect us, our mighty Lord. You are such a marvelous God, and it is our honor to follow you.
In Jesus name, amen.
