March 25, 2023 - Philippians 3:12-14
“I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.” Philippians 3:12-14 MSG
Lord, it is encouraging that Paul can say he doesn’t have it all together. He walked in so much of your power and wisdom. You used him to write a lot of the New Testament. He is such a huge example for us. Yet even he says he doesn’t have it all together and must work on his walk with you.
Lord, I thank you that you don’t require perfection. We are ordinary people, who will mess up, yet you still use us. Lord, we thank you that perfection is not a requirement. But forgiveness is a requirement. We thank you for paying the price so that our sins could be forgiven. You are incredible. Help us always come running to you to receive your forgiveness when we mess up. Never let us get away with sitting in, hiding, or harboring our sins. Open our eyes to it when we do this. Help us bring it to you. Lord, you are there to cheer us on and help make this journey possible for us to complete. Your love is amazing.
Help us keep our eyes on you. In those seasons where we are tired and want to stop, give us perseverance, and help us learn to allow you to refill us. Be our strength that keeps us going. Help us stay strong feeding our spirits in your word and worship. Help us to run towards the goal, bringing as many others as we can with us on our journey. Help us always know and listen to your voice and directions. You are such a great and wonderful God to us. We serve you wholeheartedly.
In Jesus name, amen.
