March 23, 2023 - Lamentations‬ ‭3:22-23

“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.” Lamentations 3:22-23 NLT

Lord, we thank you so much for your faithfulness to us. It truly is unending. It has been with me all the days of my life, in the good times and in the hard times.

Lord, we also thank you that you grant us new mercies every morning. Thank you that no matter how much we mess up each day, we get a new batch of mercy that day to cover those things. You give us mercy every day to face what comes our way that day.

Lord, let us not miss the significance of this verse. You are faithfully giving us each morning a tool to help us to face whatever comes our way that day. Mercy for ourselves when we mess up. Mercy that we can extend to others when they mess up. Mercy to help us bridge the gap of our differences with others. Mercy to bridge the gap when we or others don’t measure up to our expectations. Mercy to extend to others who are hurting and lost.

Help us remember to pick up this tool and use it. Remind us to consciously receive your mercy each morning. You are the only one who knows what we will face each and every day and how much mercy we will need to extend to ourselves and others. Don’t let us try to live off of yesterday’s mercy but help us remember to take the time to receive what you have for us today.

Thank you, father, for your daily gifts to us. For your daily faithfulness to us. You are so amazing to us. We love you in return.

In Jesus name, amen.
