March 22, 2023 - Psalms 121:1-8
“I look up to the mountains and hills, longing for God’s help. But then I realize that our true help and protection is only from the Lord, our Creator who made the heavens and the earth. He will guard and guide me, never letting me stumble or fall. God is my keeper; he will never forget nor ignore me. He will never slumber nor sleep; he is the Guardian-God for his people, Israel. Yahweh himself will watch over you; he’s always at your side to shelter you safely in his presence. He’s protecting you from all danger both day and night. He will keep you from every form of evil or calamity as he continuously watches over you. You will be guarded by God himself. You will be safe when you leave your home, and safely you will return. He will protect you now, and he’ll protect you forevermore!” Psalms 121:1-8 TPT
Lord, we thank you for being our guardian and protector. You go before us; you stand behind us; you surround us. When Goliath sees us, he might not be intimidated, but he is mistaken. We do not stand alone. To him we might only look like a small child with a sling & 5 small stones, but the reality is different.
Lord, we thank you for always watching over us. You never fall asleep. You never fail. You are always our safe place. No matter what we face, we have you standing with us. Wow. Thank you for guarding us from evil. Help us learn to run into your arms any time we need guarding from the enemy’s lies or anytime we mess up. For that is where we find truth, healing, forgiveness, and love. Nothing that the enemy throws our way is a surprise to you. And even when it seems that the enemy has won a battle in our lives, and pain and failure has found us, we know that you are there with us, helping us learn & grow stronger. Help us always trust you in those seasons as well as in the seasons of victories. Thank you that you are faithful in both seasons.
