March 19, 2023 - John 14:23-24
“Jesus replied, “Loving me empowers you to obey my word. And my Father will love you so deeply that we will come to you and make you our dwelling place. But those who don’t love me will not obey my words. The Father did not send me to speak my own revelation, but the words of my Father.” John 14:23-24 TPT
Lord, we do declare our love for you. It is so true that when we focus on you and as we fall more in love with you, following your ways gets so much easier. We don’t even realize it and suddenly it happens. Suddenly, things we struggled with are no longer an issue at all. It is amazing. Thank you for how love works. Love is so amazing and powerful.
Increase our love for you. Draw us in everyday and help us fall more in love with you. Dwell in us and grow in us. You bring us to life in new ways each day. How remarkable it is loving you. Through our love for you, let us learn to hear your voice more clearly and follow in your ways more easily. We want pleasing you to come so naturally. We want to be one with you so that flowing with your every move is second nature. We want deep, intimate relationships with you, our Love.
Lord, help us to never be the people in the second part of this passage who don’t obey your words. You say that they don’t really love you. Show us any area of our lives that we need to surrender to you and align with your words. We want to fully love you and never hold anything back. Help us not to love our sin or selfishness more than we love you, Lord. You deserve our all - completely, wholly, and 100% everything. Your love is so amazing. Help us love you back in the way you deserve. Help us love you so much that we live our lives in a way that makes us a beautiful dwelling place for you.
