March 18, 2024 - Isaiah 31:4-5
“But this is what the Lord has told me: “When a strong young lion stands growling over a sheep it has killed, it is not frightened by the shouts and noise of a whole crowd of shepherds. In the same way, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will come down and fight on Mount Zion. The Lord of Heaven’s Armies will hover over Jerusalem and protect it like a bird protecting its nest. He will defend and save the city; he will pass over it and rescue it.”” Isaiah 31:4-5 NLT
Lord, thank you for how you stand over us – our protector. Nothing and no one can make you back down. One growl from you and nothing would remain standing much less dare to attack. We praise you for calling us your children. You are the ultimate protective parent who always has our back. We recognize that doesn’t mean that nothing bad will ever happen to us. But we can trust you to stand with us and defend us always. We cry out to you to come roar over us. Push back the enemy’s attacks. Take back what he has stolen from us.
We cry out the worship lyrics to the Elevation worship song, “Hail, hail Lion of Judah. Let the lion roar.” Hail, hail Lion of Judah. Let the lion roar over our lives. Hail, hail Lion of Judah. Let the lion roar over our families. Hail, hail Lion of Judah. Let the lion roar over our cities. Hail, hail Lion of Judah. Let the lion roar over our world. Come roar and push back the hold of the enemy. Roar and break strongholds. Come defend your people. Come, pass over our world, and rescue the lost and hurting.
Use us, Lord. We have the Lion of Judah within us. Teach us how to stand boldly and roar for you. Don’t let the enemy silence our roar. Let your Spirit move in us and let your roar rise up in us. Show us how to stand up for righteousness. Show us how to roar for the helpless and lost. Don’t let us stay silent, make us bold for you.
In Jesus name, amen.
