March 11, 2024 - Matthew 25:14, 19-21, 29
“Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone. After a long time their master returned from his trip and called them to give an account of how they had used his money. The servant to whom he had entrusted the five bags of silver came forward with five more and said, ‘Master, you gave me five bags of silver to invest, and I have earned five more.’ “The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together! To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.” Matthew 25:14, 19-21, 29 NLT
Lord, I love the way you entrust us with your things. You give each of us giftings, talents, callings, etc. Every day you entrust to us opportunities for us to invest in. You give these things to us, but it is up to us to choose if we will invest what you have given us and how much we will invest. Help us learn how to invest well. We don’t want to waste anything that has been given to us. We want to see what you have entrusted us with to multiply. If it is a gifting or talents, show us how to use it for your glory. If it is someone that you are placing in our path today to invest in, open our eyes to see them and make it a priority to us to take the time to invest well. Even in those seasons where we don’t like where we are or what you have given us, help us remember that we still need to be faithful to invest and bring you glory where you have us. Make us faithful servants that see you abundantly multiply all that you have given us and never have to take anything away.
In Jesus name, amen.
