March 1, 2023 - Romans 3:2-3
“…the Jews were entrusted with the whole revelation of God. True, some of them were unfaithful; but just because they were unfaithful, does that mean God will be unfaithful?” Romans 3:2-3 NLT
Lord, we praise you that your faithfulness to us isn’t contingent on our faithfulness to you. We are so grateful for that fact. We would have no hope if your faithfulness to us was a reflection of our faithfulness to you. As much as we might long to be faithful, we fail at it again and again. We thank you that your love is unconditional. We praise you that it isn’t based on our performance. Lord, that is such a freeing fact. How wonderful that we don’t have to live our lives always trying to earn your love and acceptance! We cannot thank you enough for that. We would never be good enough to earn your love. It would be pointless to try. If there is any place in us where we are striving to earn your love, help us change that mindset.
Lord, we want to live to please you because we love you, not in a pointless effort to earn your love. We desire our lives to bring joy to your heart. Help us fall deeper and deeper in love with you. Help us live in a way that invites more of your presence into our lives. We want to be people that you can trust. We understand your love and faithfulness to us is not affected by our actions, but our actions will affect what our walk with you looks like. They affect how much of your presence and blessings we see in our lives. There are so many promises in the Bible for the righteous and faithful. We don’t want to work to be righteous and faithful for what we can get from you, but because it is the most loving thing we can do. You have done so much for us, and you deserve our allegiance. Even if you never did anything for us, you are the Almighty-God and you are worthy of our complete dedication and honor. We live to bring you glory.
In Jesus name, amen.
