June 8, 2024 - Jeremiah 13:10
“These wicked people refuse to listen to me. They stubbornly follow their own desires and worship other gods. Therefore, they will become like this loincloth—good for nothing!” Jeremiah 13:10 NLT
Lord, help us be people who listen to what you tell us. You have given us a whole book of wisdom to live by. You have given us pastors and other men and women with hearts after you to impart your wisdom to us as well. We praise you because you also want to speak to each of us directly. We thank you so much for the gift of the Holy Spirit who is right here with us, even within us, to guide and coach us in living a righteous life that is pleasing to you. Help us to really tune in to what you are saying to us. Help us to set up accountability in our lives that will hold us to a higher standard. We want to follow your ways. We want to honor you in all that we do. Help us not to live our lives like fools.
We praise you that you have created each of us for a purpose. Help us not to get distracted and end up living for ourselves. We don’t want our lives to be good for nothing. Help us overcome the selfish desires within us. Help us grow in choosing you and your ways. Let our lives serve your purposes and bring you glory.
