June 6, 2024 - Romans 2:3-4

“Since you judge others for doing these things, why do you think you can avoid God’s judgment when you do the same things? Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?” Romans 2:3-4 NLT

Lord, why are we so quick to judge others? We do it at times so naturally that we don’t even realize that we are doing it. Oh Lord, forgive us. Open our eyes to it and give us a disgust for it. Help us understand the truth of this verse. You forgive us again and again for sin after sin. There are likely sins that we don’t even realize that we walk in. Open our eyes to these things. Bring your convictions to us. We want to live pure and holy lives. Make us people who seek after righteousness more than we seek to fit in or fulfill the desires of our flesh. Purify us, Lord.

Lord, also give us more grace and mercy as we interact with other people. Help us learn to forgive like you forgive. You extend so much grace, mercy, and forgiveness towards us. Help us do the same for others. Help us extend kindness to others even when they don’t deserve it. Holy Spirit, guide us in this. Help us. Make us more like you. Let us reflect you and your love and mercy to others. When you lead us to correct, help us do it in your love. Lead us and help us correct others in a way that also reflects you.

In Jesus name, amen.
