June 6, 2022 - Isaiah 26:7-9
“But for those who are righteous, the way is not steep and rough. You are a God who does what is right, and you smooth out the path ahead of them. LORD, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws; our heart’s desire is to glorify your name. In the night I search for you; in the morning I earnestly seek you. For only when you come to judge the earth will people learn what is right.” Isaiah 26:7-9 NLT
Lord, we praise you for this promise. Your amazing promises to us are too good to be true, but they are true. We want to live a righteous life for you. Help us pursue that with all that we are. Show us when we are making decisions that will compromise that walk. Lord, we praise you that when we walk righteously you will smooth out our path ahead of us. Living a righteous life isn’t always easy, but we stand on the promise that you will clear the path for us to do so. Help us determine to walk in obedience to all you ask of us. We trust that you know best. You will never ask us to do something that you will not be there to support us in doing. We can trust you blindly. Help us step out and believe your truth. Even if obedience causes us great pain, we can trust that you know best and there is a purpose in the pain.
We want to live for you and keep our eyes fixed on you in every season. Whether in the night or the brightest day, let our focus be on you. In life’s storms, help us to keep our eyes locked on yours. Teach us to walk on the water. Give us the faith it takes to obey even when you tell us to get out of the boat. Let us always seek you out, everyday so we never lose sight of you. Keep our love for you fresh, like a new couple who can’t ever get enough of each other’s presence. We want to stay looking at your face so that we can reflect and glorify you to the world around us. Give us your insight on how to accomplish this task in our lives.
