June 5, 2024 - Psalms 139:11-12

“I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night—but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.” Psalms 139:11-12 NLT

Lord, how marvelous that nothing can hide from you. You see it all. We can never get lost anywhere where you can’t find us. We can never run so far that you don’t know just where we are. We never have to worry that we have done something that you will find out about, for you already know. There is a real freedom in that. There is nothing that you will find out that will keep you from loving us. There is nothing too dark for you to overcome. There is no evil that is too much for you. Wow. You are truly the Almighty.

We praise you for being the perfect light that all darkness runs from. Darkness can never push back the light, but the light will always expel the darkness. Help us remember this when the darkness feels so close and wants to consume us. Remind us that we just need to invite the light in. We just need to lift up your name and declare your praises. Darkness must flee. It’s so freeing. We praise you Lord for the freedom that we find walking with you. You are an amazing God!
