June 5, 2023 - Psalms 148:1-13
“Hallelujah! Praise the Lord from the heavens. Praise him in the heights above. Praise him, all his angels. Praise him, his entire heavenly army. Praise him, sun and moon. Praise him, all shining stars. Praise him, you highest heaven and the water above the sky. Let them praise the name of the Lord because they were created by his command. He set them in their places forever and ever. He made it a law that no one can break. Praise the Lord from the earth. Praise him, large sea creatures and all the ocean depths, lightning and hail, snow and fog, strong winds that obey his commands, mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedar trees, wild animals and all domestic animals, crawling animals and birds, kings of the earth and all its people, officials and all judges on the earth, young men and women, old and young together. Let them praise the name of the Lord because his name is high above all others. His glory is above heaven and earth.” Psalms 148:1-13 GW
Lord, the birds sing your praises. The trees wave their branches to you. The waters glisten with your glory. The sun and the moon radiate your light. The flowers bloom with your beauty. The waves show us your faithfulness to come again and again. The lion’s roar shows your mighty power. The ants show us your diligence. The cells and atoms show us your care for details down to the smallest of things. The sunrises and sunsets show off your creativity.
Lord, we love how all creation reflects who you are. They are a beautiful symphony that each declare your praise in the way they were created to. Lord, let the way we live our lives harmonize with that symphony of praise perfectly. Help us learn to live in a way that reflects and radiates who you are to the earth. Let it draw the lost to you.
In Jesus name, amen.
