June 4, 2024 - Mark 4:24

“Then he added, “Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given—and you will receive even more.” Mark 4:24 NLT

Lord, help us learn to pay close attention to you. There is so much around us that we can so quickly be distracted by. There are so many unimportant things that would love to take up all our time. Our world moves so quickly from one thing to the next, it is hard for us to learn to sit still and listen. Lord, forgive us for all the time that we allow distractions to come between us and you. Forgive us for not sitting still and giving you that attention you desire. Forgive us for not listening long enough to really hear your voice. Holy Spirit, help us do better. Grow us in this.

Give us your understanding. We want to hear all that you want to share with us. Tune us into your voice. Help us learn to listen closer through the noise and distractions. Lord, we want to receive all that you have for us. You are such a loving God who has so much to give to us if we follow your instructions and take the time to receive. We praise you for how good you are to us. All praise to you for how you speak to us.
