June 3, 2023 - Ephesians 4:1-4
“As a prisoner of the Lord, I plead with you to walk holy, in a way that is suitable to your high rank, given to you in your divine calling. With tender humility and quiet patience, always demonstrate gentleness and generous love toward one another, especially toward those who may try your patience. Be faithful to guard the sweet harmony of the Holy Spirit among you in the bonds of peace, being one body and one spirit, as you were all called into the same glorious hope of divine destiny.” Ephesians 4:1-4 TPT
Lord, we want to walk in our divine destiny so help us grow in these things. We thank you that you are calling us to live holy lives. We want to bring you honor in all we do. Help us learn to walk away from our selfish desires and run towards you.
Lord, I think of a teenager that hates the rules loving parents put on them to protect them. Then there is the teenager whose parents could care less and give no rules. That life might seem appealing to the one living with the rules, but the one with no rule longs for the love that comes with the rules. The rules are there because of love. Help us understand that your rules are to protect us. You love us so perfectly. Help us accept your processes in our lives. And even when we don’t understand, help us trust you enough to accept whatever you are doing in our lives.
Lord, help us always walk humbly, have patience, bring peace, and walk in harmony with people. But bringing harmony and peace doesn’t always mean just going with what other people want. Show us clearly when we need to yield our selfishness and when love requires us to set boundaries or offer correction. Holy Spirit, help us walk this balance in a beautiful dance led by you. Help us follow you in perfect rhythm and harmony.
In Jesus name, amen.
