June 29, 2022 - 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NIV
Lord, we praise you that you renew us every day. In this life we will face trials. There will be really hard days. Our bodies will grow older and will not work like they once did. But Lord, we praise you regardless of what things look like in the physical. For you are with us, and you renew us day by day. Every day you set out a feast for us. You have set out for us exactly what we need to face that day. We just need to show up and eat. We must take the time and block out all the distractions long enough to come into your presence and receive what you freely give us. It is that simple, so why don’t we do it more often. How much time would we save if we learned to take the time to get what we needed from you for the day? If we followed your instructions for each day, how many trails or frustrations could we actually avoid?
Lord, forgive us for not making time for you each day. Forgive us for spending too much of our time on things that hold no value. Help us change these things. Holy Spirit, we invite you to come and guide us. Remind us of what is truly important. Help us keep you as our top priority. When we are going through the trials of life, help us come to you so that we can be lifted up. Renew us every day. Help us see our trials through your eyes. Help us fix our eyes on you even in the craziness surrounding our lives. Teach us how to live with an eternal mindset, prioritizing what has a lasting and eternal impact.
In Jesus name, amen.
