June 2, 2024 - 1 Timothy 2:3-4

“God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:3-4 NIV

Lord, how marvelous you are. Your greatest desire is that all humanity would come into an intimate relationship with you. You deserve all the honor, glory, and worship from all of humanity, but I don’t believe you seek us out for that purpose alone. You seek to have us in relationship, because you know that is where we will be totally fulfilled. You long to bless us. You want us to spend eternity in your presence. We were created for a relationship with you.

Lord, if your greatest desire is to see everyone saved and understanding the truth, we want to live to make this happen. You have done and do so much for us. We want to in turn do what we can to grant your desires. Increase our hearts for the lost. Show us what our part is. But Lord, forgive us if we have made this more complicated than it is. We don’t need writing on the wall, you have already told us to “Go into all nations and preach the Gospel to everyone.” Help us step out and do it. We don’t need to wait for you to send us around the world. Let us reach out in our neighborhoods and towns. We are surrounded by people who need to be introduced to the real you and discipled. Help us walk out in doing what we can to bring them to you and then pray that you draw them into a relationship with you. You are worthy, our Lord, to receive the reward of your suffering! We want to live our lives to give it to you.
