June 19, 2022 - Romans 5:6-8
“For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”” Romans 5:6-8 ESV
Lord, your love for us is so amazing. We praise you for how you love us so completely. We praise you that you love us in whatever state we find ourselves. How wonderful that there are no conditions to your love. We praise you that it never expires. It never runs out. We praise you that we can never outrun it. There is no place that we can go that it isn’t there. No matter the mess we make of our lives, it doesn’t scare your love away. We cannot mess up so much that we scare your love away. You are never too ashamed of us to pull us back into your arms.
We praise you that even in the moments that we are the most ashamed of our behavior or our state, we can run to you and find acceptance. Thank you that we don’t have to fix ourselves or clean ourselves up before we approach you. We could never accomplish cleaning ourselves up enough to come before you in a worthy position anyways. We all fall short no matter how well we try to live our lives. We praise you for your forgiveness and mercy. We can never be grateful enough for your love and acceptance.
Show us places in our lives that we are not bringing to you. Where are the places that we are ashamed of and attempting to hide from you? Where are the places that we think are too lost or broken to ever be fully repaired? Open our eyes to those places. Help us have the faith and trust to bring those areas to you and believe that you will bring freedom and restoration. We surrender those areas to you today. We praise you that nothing is too hard for you to redeem.
In Jesus name, amen.
