June 17, 2023 - 2 Corinthians 1:8-10
“Brothers and sisters, you need to know about the severe trials we experienced while we were in western Turkey. All of the hardships we passed through crushed us beyond our ability to endure, and we were so completely overwhelmed that we were about to give up entirely. It felt like we had a death sentence written upon our hearts, and we still feel it to this day. It has taught us to lose all faith in ourselves and to place all of our trust in the God who raises the dead. He has rescued us from terrifying encounters with death. And now we fasten our hopes on him to continue to deliver us from death yet again,” 2 Corinthians 1:8-10 TPT
Lord, we thank you for how you are with us when we go through the hardest of seasons. You are faithful to us. You never leave us. You never forget us. And with your help we can handle anything.
Lord, help us learn to press into you when life gets hard. When it seems more than we can bear, teach us to put our burdens on your shoulders and leave them there. Teach us to lock our eyes onto you and not look away. Help us to not get lost in the hurt, pain, sorrow, overwhelming feelings, confusion or whatever it is that wants to swallow us whole. Teach us to trust you fully even when we don’t understand and the easy answer would be to blame you.
Help us silence the lies of the enemy during those seasons. Let our faith in the truth be so grounded in you that when life wants to rock us to the core, it can’t because our foundation in you is solid. When the storms of life want to blow us to pieces, let us cling to you with all we have and not let go or doubt you. For Lord, we know that no matter what the situations look like, you are always faithful. We praise you for that and declare that our trust is always in you.
In Jesus name, amen.
