June 16, 2024 - Romans 5:10-11

“For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.” Romans 5:10-11 NLT

Lord, what a powerful verse. We thank you so much for wanting a friendship with us so much that you gave your life in our place to make it possible. We didn’t deserve it. We constantly fail at being a faithful friend. You knew that would be the case, yet you still chose to give your life for us. You still chose friendship with us, knowing the pain we would cause you. We thank you for the price that you paid for our salvation. We praise you for the wonderful friendship that you offer us. Help us become good friends to you. Grow us. Open our eyes to the things in our lives that cause you pain and help us learn to change that behavior. Give us an overwhelming desire to spend time in your presence and get to really know you. Help us put aside the unimportant things that distract us from doing just that. We can’t thank you enough for the honor that we can call the God of the universe a friend and that you would call us the same. Just, wow. You are so amazingly good to us. All praise to you.

In Jesus name, amen.
