June 15, 2024 - Colossians 3:16-17

“Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.” Colossians 3:16-17 NLT

Jesus, the message of you is full of richness. It is the most valuable thing we could ever possess. It is more valuable than ourselves or anyone else we could ever love. Things of this earth, including the people in it, will one day pass away. Lord, we don’t want anyone to pass away without the opportunity to hear your message. We want to live our lives to share the hope of your rich message. Be with us and grow us. Give us your wisdom to know how to help others grow in your message. Help us to realize that it isn’t just the pastors and church staff who are called to teach and counsel. You are calling us all to it. We must learn to go deeper in our relationship with you. We must be in tune with the Holy Spirit and his leading. Teach us how to disciple others.

Help us live a life that brings you glory always in all that we do. We want people to look at us and see a reflection of you, Jesus. Purify our lives so the reflection isn’t smudged and warped, but one that reflects you. We praise you that you are at work in us. Thank you for how you long to use us to change the world. We want to always be ready and available.

In Jesus name, amen.
