June 13, 2024 - Psalms 63:1-5

“O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory. Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer. You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy.” Psalms 63:1-5 NLT

Oh, our Lord, make this the true cry of our hearts. We want to be people who earnestly search for you all the time. Let our soul thirst for spending time with you, like a man in the desert dying of thirst longs for water. Let that longing help us keep you as the highest priority in our lives. Let it push aside the other not so important things to make time for you. Lord, we ask for deep encounters with your glory that leaves us in that place of overwhelming desire for more of you.

Your love is better than life itself. It is unending and it never fails. We praise you for your perfect love. What an honor to be fully loved by you. All praise be to you. You are worthy. We praise you that time in your presence will satisfy us like nothing else ever could. Nothing else can begin to come close to you, our Lord. We sing praises to you, the wonderful lover of our souls!

In Jesus name, amen.
