June 12, 2023 - Numbers 13:25-28, 30-31, 33
“After exploring the land for forty days... They reported to the whole community what they had seen and showed them the fruit they had taken from the land. This was their report to Moses: “We entered the land you sent us to explore, and it is indeed a bountiful country—a land flowing with milk and honey. Here is the kind of fruit it produces. But the people living there are powerful, and their towns are large and fortified. We even saw giants there! But Caleb tried to quiet the people as they stood before Moses. “Let’s go at once to take the land,” he said. “We can certainly conquer it!” But the other men who had explored the land with him disagreed. “We can’t go up against them! They are stronger than we are!” We even saw giants there...Next to them we felt like grasshoppers, and that’s what they thought, too!”” Numbers 13:25-28, 30-31, 33 NLT
Lord, give us faith like Caleb to see the giants before us and believe that with you they can be conquered. It is so easy to look at your promises and say, “They are impossible. The giants are too big. I can’t do this.” Lord, increase our faith and trust in you. With you all things are possible. We thank you that your promises still apply to us even though we are not perfect. You can and will use us to slay giants. You will part the seas for each of us. Every one of us can walk on water if we can have the faith to step out of the boat and learn to keep our eyes focused on you.
Help us learn to take our eyes off the giants and look at your promises with expectation and excitement. Forgive us for any negativity and unbelief we have allowed in our lives. Change our perspectives. Grow our faith. Train us to be giant slayers. Today, we declare that we will run towards your promises regardless of what giants stand in the way.
In Jesus name, amen.
