July 9, 2023 - Philippians‬ ‭1:21

“My true life is the Anointed One, and dying means gaining more of him.” Philippians 1:21 TPT

Lord, you mean so much to us. We truly want to live our lives for you, for you are the reason we live. You are our true life. It is you that makes life worth living. You are so worthy of our everything! And we want to give you just that. We want to pour out every last drop of our lives for you. You are worthy. Our lives are all for you. Like this verse says, we want to be willing to die for you, but Lord, I think that harder than physically dying for you is dying to our selfishness every day for you. Dying to our dreams and desires if it is what you ask of us. Dying to what we view as our “rights”, if they are required to see your gospel spread to the least of these. Dying to what we think we deserve. Dying to our pride and learning to walk the humble road. Dying to the easy life and comforts when it’s needed to follow after you. Dying to what people think of us and our reputation to walk in obedience to you. Dying to what we think we need or our desire to “protect” ourselves and being willing to give you anything and everything in our physical possession or bank account if you ask for it. Doing these things day in and day out is hard. Oh, but Lord, you are worthy. You deserve these things. Jesus, you did all those things for us when you came to earth and died for us. You are not asking us to do anything you didn’t already do for us.

Lord, we praise you that anything we give up comes back to us with more of you. What a blessing! Help each of us live our lives every day dying to our selfishness and rights. Help us walk in obedience to anything you ask without any hesitation regardless of what it costs us. For you are worthy, Lord. You are worthy!
