July 9, 2022 - Proverbs 3:7-8
“Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.” Proverbs 3:7-8 ESV
Lord, help us not to be impressed with our own wisdom. We don’t want to be prideful in what we think we know or can accomplish in our own strength. Even the wisest of humans can’t begin to compare to the wisdom that you hold. We need your wisdom, Lord. It is easy to rely on ourselves and our wisdom, especially for things we would say are easy decisions or answers. But Lord, even if a decision seems easy, we can’t see all the variables. We don’t hold the future in our hands. We may think we understand what is going on, but we can’t see other people’s past experiences or their motives. Lord, we acknowledge that we need your insight in our lives. Please fill i\us with your wisdom and discernment to see beyond our limited vision and see what is really happening.
Jesus, we want to run from evil. You paid the ultimate price to set us free from sin and we want to honor what you did for us in all that we do. Increase our hatred for allowing for sin and evil into our lives. We don’t want to give Satan power over any part of our life, but we want to fully walk in the freedom that you bought for us. Open our eyes to any places in our lives where we are giving a place to sin and help us change those behaviors.
We praise you for your wonderful promises. We praise you that when we walk humbly and in reverence of you, and when we run from evil, you bring healing to us. This verse says that you will refresh us. How marvelous. You will keep us whole and refreshed. Praise be to you, our Father. It is so great to serve you. Your blessings are too good to be true, but they are. Please show us any areas in our lives that don’t line up with these conditions so that we can walk in all that this verse promises.
In Jesus name, amen.
