July 3, 2022 - Isaiah 51:15-16
“For I am the LORD your God, who stirs up the sea, causing its waves to roar. My name is the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. And I have put my words in your mouth and hidden you safely in my hand. I stretched out the sky like a canopy and laid the foundations of the earth. I am the one who says to Israel, ‘You are my people!’” Isaiah 51:15-16 NLT
God, we praise you for your mighty power. You are the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. At your command everything will listen. Nothing escapes following your orders. When you speak, things happen. From you comes life itself. You created everything and everything answers to you. The winds and seas obey your voice. Even the devil and his demons will follow your commands. They hold no power compared to yours. Even those people who deny your existence will bow before you one day. If you open their eyes to who you are, they will bow, even now, in an instant. Nothing compares to your might. All praise be to your name.
It is a spectacularly amazing fact that you choose to use us. We are fallen people, who mess up so often, yet you choose to forgive us again and again. Your love for us is awesome and unending. We praise you for your love and acceptance. You speak to us and share your secrets with us. We praise you that you hide us in your hand and keep us safe. That doesn’t mean that we won’t face hurtful or hard times, but it means we are never alone in what we face. We praise you so much for this fact. You call us your people. What an honor and a privilege. Help us live in a manner that makes you proud to call us your people. We want to live to bring you the glory you deserve. You are worthy of our everything. You are worthy of so much more than we could ever give you, but we give you all we have and all we are. All glory, all power, all honor, and all praise be to your name. Your name is above all others.
