July 28, 2023 - Psalms 62:5-6
“I am standing in absolute stillness, silent before the one I love, waiting as long as it takes for him to rescue me. Only God is my Savior, and he will not fail me. For he alone is my safe place. His wraparound presence always protects me as my champion defender. There’s no risk of failure with God! So why would I let worry paralyze me, even when troubles multiply around me?” Psalms 62:5-6 TPT
Lord, increase our ability to wait patiently before you. Not to worry, but to wait silently with complete trust that you will come through for us every time. We want to be willing to wait for as long as it takes on you to move. Let us learn to stand in complete peace, not trying to manipulate you to move faster, or give up on you and try to make things happen ourselves.
Teach us to learn the difference between the times when you just want us to silently wait, and the times when we need to take initiative and move forward in faith. We need to know that you are telling us to move before we do so. Then give us the courage to always step out even when it looks totally impossible, or we can’t see what the outcome will be.
We thank you that you are our Savior. You are always faithful to us, and we can always trust you. You will never fail us. Thank you for always being our safe place. What an amazing fact - that your presence wraps around us, always protecting us as our champion defender. You literally surround us. We are wrapped up in your protection. You cannot be defeated. What do we have to fear? We cannot fail in you. There is just no risk. How amazing! Thank you so much that we truly can have peace no matter what we face. In the unknown and uncertainty, we can be overflowing with joy, following you in an amazing adventure that is so worth it.
