July 26, 2024 - Romans‬ ‭14‬:‭7‬-‭9‬

“For we don’t live for ourselves or die for ourselves. If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. Christ died and rose again for this very purpose—to be Lord both of the living and of the dead.” Romans 14:7-9 NLT

Lord, let the statement, ‘we don’t live for ourselves or die for ourselves’ be true of us. We want everything we do to honor you. We never want to steal your glory. Open our eyes to any place in our lives where we are living for our own glory or gain. Help us uproot any pride or part of us striving for selfish gain. Help us to prioritize anything in our lives that isn’t in the right place. We place our lives in your hands. Whatever you ask of us, we want to answer, “yes.” We want our lives to revolve around you. What is in our lives that doesn’t bring you glory? Light up every area and transform us until every part of us brings you glory.

Jesus, we thank you so much for dying for us. You laid down everything for us. You are worthy of our everything. We want to not only call you Lord in name, but our lives to be a living example that we recognize you as our Lord and would do anything to honor you. We declare that you are our Lord while we live here on earth and for all eternity.
