July 25, 2022 - Acts 2:25-28

“David said about him: “‘I saw the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest in hope, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, you will not let your holy one see decay. You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.’” Acts 2:25-28 NIV

Lord, we agree with King David. We rejoice in you. We praise you that you go before us. Help us to always follow closely behind you. We don’t want to wander off and go our own way. We want to stay right there with you. Please show us if we are getting distracted or if we are starting to wander away. We know that if we stick close to you that we will not be shaken. You are our firm ground, and we want to do all that we can to firmly plant ourselves in you. Give us a desire to dig into your Word and get it deep within us. Help us make time to stop and sit with you, so we can learn who you are. What an honor to be able to know you intimately. We praise you for your love and goodness to us. We rejoice in you and all you do for us.

We praise you that we can find rest in you. You will teach us how to stop the fear, worry, and anxiety that want to steal our rest. When we are feeling restless, remind us where we find our rest. Thank you for being our hope. We can always rest assured that you will be there for us no matter what we face or walk through. If we are on your side, nothing can stand against us. You will never abandon us. Even in death we are not abandoned, but united with you. We praise you that death is not the end for us. We praise you that while our body might decay our soul and spirit will spend eternity with you. Thank you for leading us on the path of eternal life. It is such an honor and joy to walk this path with you.
