July 17, 2024 - Ephesians‬ ‭1‬:‭16‬-‭18

“I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.” Ephesians 1:16-18 NLT

Lord, this prayer from Paul is powerful. Is there anyone that you want us to pray continually for with this much passion and detail? Show us who it is that we are to “adopt” in prayer. Give us people that we can intercede over and help us to really commit to them. Remind us to keep at it and to pray continually and constantly.

As we think about who you have placed on our hearts, Lord, we pray that you would give them spiritual wisdom and insight. Increase their hunger for you to keep pressing in deeper. Grow their knowledge in you and their desire to search you out. We pray for you to flood their hearts with light. Help them to bring into the light anything they are trying to hide in the darkness. Give them understanding of what it looks like to walk in your confident hope regardless of what they are facing in life. Let them walk in their rich and glorious inheritance. We praise you for that, our Lord. I also pray this prayer over everyone reading this now. Make these things a reality in our lives.

In Jesus name, amen.
