July 10, 2024 - Isaiah 40:6-8

“A voice said, “Shout!” I asked, “What should I shout?” “Shout that people are like the grass. Their beauty fades as quickly as the flowers in a field. The grass withers and the flowers fade beneath the breath of the Lord. And so it is with people. The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:6-8 NLT

Lord, we praise you that you are never changing. We can stand firm and trust in the fact that your Word will stand forever. Help us always to remember that you are what really matters, everything else will fade away. Our bodies and everything we can build here on earth will wither and fade away in time. Lord, we praise you that you have promised us that when our belief is in you, we will spend eternity with you. It gives us such hope and brings meaning to our lives. Without you and your promises, what is the purpose? We can spend a lifetime trying to build something that will only fade away. Help us to evaluate our lives and show us what we are investing in that is pointless. Teach us how to live our lives in a way that will matter for all eternity. Show us how to invest ourselves and our resources into places that will not fade away. Give us an eternal mindset and help us live that out every day.

Lord, we can’t wait to get to heaven and see your face. We want to hear you say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” We want to know that we lived our life here on earth to shine your glory and spread your name to the lost. We want to be able to look around and see evidence of a life lived with an eternal mindset.

In Jesus name, amen.
