July 10, 2022 - Psalms 119:105

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalms 119:105 ESV

Lord, we thank you so much for giving us your word in written form. The Bible is such a remarkable gift to us. It is part of you. It provides so much encouragement, insight, and direction to help us live our lives to honor you. Increase our desire to dig into it. We want to learn it. We want to saturate our minds with it. We want it to transform the way that we think. Let us get it so into our DNA that our actions and responses in life naturally line up with what is written on its pages. When we don’t make time to spend in its pages, let us miss it and yearn to get back to it. Help us memorize it so that we can quickly reference the scriptures that we need as we face different situations. When our emotions or life’s situations try to tell us things that don’t line up with your Word, we want to immediately recognize it. Help us to be quick to find the truth and declare it over our situation or emotions. Help us to always be firmly grounded in the truth found in your Word.

Lord, we do praise you that your Word is a lamp unto our feet, and it does light up our path. It will guide us in the way that we should go, but it only works if we are in it. When we saturate ourselves with your Word and we seek you in prayer, you will make sure to keep us on your straight and narrow path. That is so wonderfully freeing. We don’t have to stress about missing your will. You will lead us and guide us. If we are not sure about which decision to make, we can trust that you will give us clear direction. If we start to go the wrong way, we can trust you will let us know. We thank you for the many ways that you speak to us. We praise you that you are not a God of confusion, but clarity. If we are confused, we just need to ask you to give us wisdom. We praise you for always wanting to guide us.

In Jesus name, amen.
