January 6, 2022 - Psalms 103:12

“He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.” Psalms 103:12 NLT

Jesus, we praise you so much for the price that you paid to forgive our sins. You came and lived a perfect life, so that you could be the perfect lamb slain for all our sins once and for all. We praise you that when we ask for forgiveness, you remove our sin completely as far as the east is from the west. East and west will never meet, it is infinite. That is what it is like when you remove our sin. You remove them from us infinitely. Isaiah 43:25 says that you forget them. We praise you that you choose to forget them, and they are gone – forever wiped away.

You also set us free from guilt and shame. We praise you for freely forgiving us. You do not require us to pay a debt or work off our mistakes. This is an easy concept to say, but it can be hard to live out. We so often punish ourselves for our sins. Lord, we want this year to be marked as a year of freedom. Please show us the places we are holding onto guilt and shame. Show us where we have limited ourselves or put the bondage back on that you broke off of us. Show us where we are buying into lies that tell us that we are not really free, or it is not really forgotten.

Holy Spirit, teach us how to walk out in freedom. Teach us how to forgive ourselves and let go of guilt and shame. We don’t want to walk in these things any longer. Jesus, you paid the price with your life and set us free, we want to honor that sacrifice. Help us get past good intentions or desires and put this into action. We declare that this will be a year of freedom. This will be a year that we no longer hold ourselves back by believing the lies that we are not good enough. We will put what is in the past in the past and choose to walk in all you have for our future.

In Jesus name, amen.
