January 3, 2025 - Revelation 3:14
“To the angel (divine messenger) of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the trusted and faithful and true Witness, the Beginning and Origin of God’s creation:” Revelation 3:14 AMP
Jesus, what a beautiful description of you. In this verse we see that you are called the Amen. What a name! When I looked up the meaning of “Amen”, it said the root word means firm, fixed, or sure. Jesus, you are very much firm and fixed. You are our firm and fixed foundation. We can build on you and never worry about our foundation shifting, cracking, or sinking. We can be sure of who you are. In Hebrew, “Amen” also means “to be reliable” and “to be trusted.” How wonderful to put our life in the hands of someone we never have to doubt. We can trust you without caution. You are the trusted and faithful one. Hallelujah!
Amen also means “so be it” - the final word. Jesus, you are the final Word. You are the Beginning and the End. You were the Origin of God’s creation. You are the true and trusted witness to everything. Jesus, you are at the source of everything created. Jesus, you are so much more than our earthly minds can comprehend. You are more worthy of all praise than we can understand. We ask for you to reveal more of yourself to us. We dedicate our lives to you, for you are worthy.
In Jesus name, amen.
