January 27, 2024 - Proverbs 27:9, 17, 23
“Sweet friendships refresh the soul and awaken our hearts with joy, for good friends are like the anointing oil that yields the fragrant incense of God’s presence. It takes a grinding wheel to sharpen a blade, and so one person sharpens the character of another. A shepherd should pay close attention to the faces of his flock and hold close to his heart the condition of those he cares for.” Proverbs 27:9, 17, 23 TPT
Lord, I thank you for the friendships you have put in our lives. Let us treasure our friendships from you and work to keep them strong. We pray that you would always give us good strong friendships that would bring joy and continually push us closer to you. Give us the close friendships we need for each season of life and let your presence always be at the center of our friendships. Give us friends that would speak wisdom and truth in our lives, friends who love us through the hard times. Give us friends who will help us sharpen our characters. Don’t let us shy away from the rubbing that is making us sharper. Help us press into that and the friendships that help create it. At the same time, give us wisdom if we have any friendships that we need to distance ourselves from because they are pulling us away from you.
Lord, help us never to be so wrapped up in us and our lives that we don’t see what is happening in the lives of the people around us. Give us such wisdom to know what they truly need. Help us deliver more of you to them. Help us to be a part of the healing you do in their lives and to be a place of sunshine to them when it is needed.
Lord, I thank you so much for the joy each of our friendships bring. We pray for your blessing over each of our friends today. Make it a restful day full of your presence and blessings. Pour yourself over them more and more. Thank you so much for putting each of them in our lives in this season.
In Jesus name, amen.
