January 27, 2022 - 2 Timothy 4:7-8
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7-8 NIV
Lord, we want to be able to proclaim this at the end of our lives. We want to have won the fight and finished the race. We want to have always kept the faith. We ask that you come and help us do just that. We want to tap into your strength to always keep going. Help us to never give in and quit. Lord, we praise you that to win this race, we don’t have to be the fastest, we just have to keep going to the end. We praise you that to win this fight we don’t have to be the strongest, we just have to not give up. We have to keep standing our ground. We praise you that to keep the faith that we don’t have to be the most spiritual, we just have to keep believing in you.
Help us not to give up when times are hard. Teach us to endure until the end. Lord, we know that you are with us. No matter what we are facing we can stand assured that you will help us through. If needed, you will even carry us through. We just have to keep our faith in you, hold tight, and not give up. We know that it is the hardest right before the breakthrough. When it is so hard, we don’t think we can keep going, we praise you that our breakthrough is almost here.
Jesus, we long for your appearing. We can’t wait for the day that we get to kneel before you. We will finish this race. We will celebrate you for all eternity. We praise you for the crown of righteousness that will be awaiting us. Whatever we face here will be nothing once we get to heaven. Help us keep the end goal in our view and never forget what we are racing toward. If we ever want to quit the fight, remind us what we are fighting toward. You are so worth it, Jesus.
In Jesus name, amen.
