January 26, 2025 - Philippians 2:9-11
“Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11 ESV
Jesus, what a glorious day it is going to be when you are highly exalted by all creation as you deserve to be. I can’t wait to see every knee in heaven, on earth, and under the earth bow before you and confess you Lord of all. It generates so much excitement in me just thinking about it. But it also makes me sad to think about all those that will bow and acknowledge you for the first time as Lord. Those souls that didn’t recognize you before it was too late. I never want to have to look anyone in the eye who missed their chance and know that you gave me the opportunity to share your love with them, yet I didn’t do it. Oh, the anguish of that.
Lord, help us to see the lost people around us through your eyes and understand the task before us to share you with them. Holy Spirit, help us to prioritize living our lives in a way that we look like Jesus. Let your love for people shine through our every action and draw the lost to you through our lives. Give us a boldness to share you, regardless of how mainstream society might think of us. Give us a greater faith to step out and pray bold prayers for the miraculous that demonstrates your power to those who need to see you at work. Show us how to extend grace and mercy to others instead of judgement and condemnation. Help us get out of our comfort zones when necessary to reach those who need you the most. Let our lives be lived in a way that we have done all we can to see as many lost as possible declare you their Lord, while they still have the choice to do so.
In Jesus name, amen.
