January 20, 2023 - Proverbs 20:12
“Ears to hear and eyes to see—both are gifts from the LORD.” Proverbs 20:12 NLT
Lord, we thank you so much for the gifts that you give us. You are a Father who loves to bless your children and we want to take the time to thank you for the way you pour your blessings out over us. If we take the time to look, we can see your blessings all around us throughout each day. Help us remember to take the time to notice your blessings. We don’t want to take them for granted, but we thank you for them. You are so wonderful to us.
We want to come before you today and ask for the blessing of having ears to hear and eyes to see. Would you please bless us with a greater ability in these areas? We want to be able to hear your voice more clearly. We want to know your voice. Even when life is crazy and so many things are vying for our attention, let us be so familiar with your voice that we can quickly pick it out through the noise and know what you are saying to us. Give us ears that are fine tuned to hear your voice. Not only do we want to hear it, but we want to understand what you are saying to us. Teach us how to listen with open hearts and not only through our own perspectives.
Lord, we also ask that you give us eyes to see what you are doing. Give us your insights to see and understand what is going on under the surface. Help us see beyond what is visible in the natural and allow us to see into the spiritual realm and understand what is really happening. Give us your insights to see and understand how you are moving. We want to be able to move with you and not be left behind because we were not aware of what you were really doing. We also ask for your increased insight as we read your Word. Help us to see beyond the words to what you are really saying and meaning. Thank you for the increase in all these areas that we know that you are sending us.
