January 2, 2025 - Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭16

“For by Him all things were created in heaven and on earth, [things] visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [that is, by His activity] and for Him.” Colossians 1:16 AMP

Jesus, you are the “Him” in this verse. All things were created in heaven and earth by you. Each one of us was handcrafted by you. Not one detail was missed or was a mistake. Regardless of what society says, what you make is perfect. As the creator, you also have authority over everything you created. All authorities, all dominions, all things visible and invisible will submit to you. Everything exists through you. Whether it acknowledges you are God or not, matters not. Without you sustaining the life in us, we would all cease to exist. Without you taking the time to create us, there would be no us. We were all created for you, as well. We were created because you wanted to have a relationship with us. You created us in your image so that you could adopt us into your family. You didn’t create us so that we could worship you or do anything for you. You don’t need us. You are perfectly complete without us. You created us out of generosity. You wanted us to share in your perfect unity.

Lord, open our eyes to see you for who you are. Open our minds to understand you more. We worship you because we want to know you. We want to set our eyes upon you. We praise you for creating us. We praise you for giving us life. We praise you for adopting us and bringing you into your perfect family. Help us to grasp the true meaning of that. Let us walk in your pure love, joy, and peace. Help us to fully open up our hearts to be loved by you and to love you.
