January 2, 2023 - Proverbs 2:1-11

“My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands. Tune your ears to wisdom and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the LORD, and you will gain knowledge of God. For the LORD grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him. Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will find the right way to go. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy. Wise choices will watch over you. Understanding will keep you safe.” Proverbs 2:1-11 NLT

Lord, we come before you today and cry out for your insight and understanding. Help us to dig deeper into knowing you and your Word. Open our eyes to your revelations. We ask for your ideas, your creativity, and ability to problem solve. Give us your discernment to understand things that are happening below the surface. Tune our ears into hearing your voice. Increase our ability to understand what you are saying and how you are moving. Let this be a year of seeing your wisdom increase in us.

Lord, teach us how to walk in the fear of you, to have integrity in all we do, and to always be honest. We praise you for being our shield. We praise you for guarding our path when we are faithful to you. Teach us how to be faithful. Increase our ability to know what is right, just, and fair, and let us find the right way to go. Let your knowledge fill us with joy. Let wise choices watch over us and understanding keep us safe this next year. We praise you for these promises and are expecting to see them lived out in this year.
