January 19, 2022 - Psalms 84;1-4
“How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young— a place near your altar, Lord Almighty, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you.” Psalms 84:1-4 NIV
Jesus, we praise you that we can dwell in your house. What a beautiful place. We are so grateful that you long for us to come and sit with you. You long to show yourself to us. We also long for more of you. You are what we treasure the most in life. We can never get enough of you. We want to dwell with you more and more. We desire you more than anything else. You are our everything. Our souls yearn for more of your presence. We cry out for more of you in our lives.
We don’t want to just set aside only a small block of time in our day for you. We want to learn how to dwell with you all day long. Teach us how to invite you into everything we do. Help us learn to do our everyday tasks unto you and invite you into them. We want to bring your house and your courts into our entire day. Let your glory be evident in and through us to everyone who crosses our path during the day.
We want you to reign in our lives. We want our lives to be a place that you want to dwell. We want to be a place where you can come and rest. We want to be a place that you feel ministered to and refreshed by. We want to live a life that is ever found praising you and lifting you up higher and higher. We want no space between us and you. We want nothing to hold us back or separate us from you. Transform our lives into a living sanctuary for you. Lord, we want you to always feel comfortable in our lives. Make yourself at home in our lives. We love you and want more of you.
In Jesus name, amen.
