January 15, 2024 - Proverbs‬ ‭15:14-16

“Lovers of God hunger after truth, but those without understanding feast on foolishness and don’t even realize it. Everything seems to go wrong when you feel weak and depressed. But when you choose to be cheerful, every day will bring you more and more joy and fullness. It’s much better to live simply, surrounded in holy awe and worship of God, than to have great wealth with a home full of trouble.” Proverbs 15:14-16 TPT

Lord, open our eyes to any place in our lives where we are feasting on foolishness and don’t even realize it. Help us to truly hunger after truth. We want to live by it in every area of our lives. Give us an understanding of your truth so we can live by it always.

Lord, I love the way the author worded this. It is a choice. We need to choose to be cheerful every day. As we look at the circumstances around us, it is so easy to feel powerless and depressed. Help us always to keep our eyes on you. We choose to believe that you are in control. We choose to believe your reports. Thank you that when we do so we will live in your joy and fullness.

Teach us how to live our days constantly focused on you. We want to always be surrounded by your holy awe and in worship to you. Even as we run around doing our everyday tasks, let it be from a place of worship. Help us learn to keep our spirits focused on you even in the chaos of life. Fill us with more of your presence.

Lord, we thank you for the way you love us and long to reveal yourself to us. We thank you for the treasure your word is and how you clearly show us how to live in a way that we can unlock all you have for us. Let our desire for more of you in our lives always overpower any desire we have for the things of this world. Thank you for all your help in this journey.
