January 13, 2022 - Genesis 12:1-3
“The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”” Genesis 12:1-3 NLT
Lord, we praise you for how you love to bless us. This blessing that you gave to Abram was such a beautiful blessing. It is amazing what comes out of walking in obedience to you. We want to be willing to follow you anywhere and do anything you ask. We love you and want to spend our lives showing you how much. Lord, we thank you that even if you are calling us to do something hard, like calling Abram to leave his native country and relatives, you go with us. You will show us the way. We will never go alone. And it seems the way you often work, the harder the call is on our lives the bigger the promise.
Lord, today we ask that you bless us like you have blessed Abraham. Let our lives be a blessing to others around us. Let our families be blessed by you – our children and our children’s children for generations to come. We ask that you bless those who bless us and we ask that you defend us to those who treat us with contempt.
Lord, let us lead people to you and the blessing that you are. Please, lead us into all that you have for us. Help us grow into the people who live to honor you in every way. Increase our love for you. Show us how to make our lives about blessing you for all the many blessings you pour over us each day. You are such a wondrous God. What an honor it is to serve you. We once again lay our lives at your feet and tell you to have your way in us.
In Jesus name, amen.
