January 12, 2024 - Proverbs 12:1-3
“To learn the truth you must long to be teachable, or you can despise correction and remain ignorant. If your heart is right, favor flows from the Lord, but a devious heart invites his condemnation. You can’t expect success by doing what’s wrong. But the lives of his lovers are deeply rooted and firmly planted.” Proverbs 12:1-3 TPT
Lord, please help us always remain in a teachable posture. We want to walk humbly and have a desire to grow that always overpowers our pride. Open our eyes to quickly recognize when pride is rising in these situations and give us the strength to allow humility to win. In those teachable moments, always give us discernment to know how to apply the correction, so we can grow and become wise. Don’t allow us to remain ignorant in any areas of our lives. We invite you to correct us.
I thank you, Father, that you know our hearts even better than we do, and we can trust you fully with our hearts. Take them and examine them. Show us what is in them. Open our eyes to unseen motives behind our actions. If our motives don’t honor you, show us how to fix them. Heal the hurts and wrongs that reside in us. Speak truth where we are believing lies. Realign us where our motives have strayed from your truth. We want to walk in your favor all the days of our lives. We want our heart to always align with yours.
We want to walk successfully with you, our Lover. We want to plant ourselves in you and take the time to push our roots in deep, so we are very firmly planted in you. Show us how to do these things. Give us individually the exact plan that is right for each of us. Help us always make you a priority and show us any place in our lives where you are not priority. We thank you for your patience with us as we are walking out the path of righteousness.
In Jesus name, amen.
